Hi, my name is Paul Menin and I am the founder of OYSR in 1968.  Born in Pittsfield, MA I moved to Ashley Falls in 1968 to become a teacher at Mt. Everett Regional High School where I taught social studies for 36 years.  I married my wife Mary Beth in 1968 and had three girls, Lisa, Amy and Beth who in turn married and have give me six grandchildren all girls, Lindsey, Amanda, Abagail, Tori, Mia and the youngest Libby.
I bought my 1st car in 1967 a gold and black 1967 GTO with 400 HO Engine, 4speed and red fender liners which I still own and is featured in Hemming's Muscle Car Magazine.  After a few years into street rods I switched over to Pontiac's, my passion.  I now own 12 restored Pontiac's:
1.) 1964 Sun Fire Red GTO- 381 tri-power 4speed
2.) 1965 Iris Mist GTO- 421 tri-power 4speed
3.) 1965 May Fair Maize GTO- 389 tri-power, R/A 4speed

Hi fellow enthusiast!  I'm Ernie Louison, a native of Sheffield, MA, and Berkshire County resident until 1995. That's when I met my late wife, Ruth.
Once I found out she loved hot rods, drag racing, and baseball, I knew I wanted to be with her and moved to Brooklyn, NY. (Among other reasons, of course)
After 5 years of learner's permits, we got married at the Adirondack Nationals Car Show in Lake George, NY September 8, 2000. We bought our 1941 Dodge coupe in 1998 after seeing it advertised in Hemmings Motor News. Being prepared to travel a few hundred miles to buy the right car...it turned out that the Dodge was 5 blocks away from us, in a garage in Brooklyn!
Figuring this had to be arranged by some kind of great and powerful wizard, we bought the car. Never mind that it was a fat-fendered Mopar (exactly what someone with the nickname "MoparErnie" was looking for), with absolutely no rust and happened to be within a few hundred yards of us!  A call to my friend Bob Wuori in Southfield, MA
set up a spot in his highly regarded shop, albeit almost a year and a half later. Ruth was equally involved in the planning...lower it, weld the body seams and smooth it, remove this, add that, etc. About ten months after Bobby started it, we had a 318 V8 powered, Torqueflite shifted, smoothed, shaved, lowered, air conditioned street rod. And...it was done just in time for our wedding.

Jimmy was a member of the Olde Yankee Street Rods since 1971 I have a 1971 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, and a 1948 English Ford Anglia. I am currently President of the Olde Yankee Street Rods. And a 1953 Coney Island Bumper Car that I have for a trailer that I pull behind My Anglia!!!!!!!!!"

Hello, my name is Denny Jacobs. My wife Judy & I first became involved in Olde Yankee Street Rods back in 1975 when we were teenagers and had several GTO's & a Deuce Coupe street rod.

I am the 3rd Generation to own our family business Jacobs Garage in Falls Village, CT. My grandfather founded the business in 1930 & received many awards from Pontiac Motor Division for selling the most Pontiacs in New England during a given time period. I was lucky to work for my grandfather during Pontiac's greatest time period in the 1960's and had the pleasure of owning many GTO's. Today I, along with Judy & our son Dave, run a very busy general repair shop and organize the Falls Village Car & Motorcycle Show every July. For our 85th anniversary in 2015, we had Shirley Muldowney as our special guest at the Falls Village Car Show. We also organize the Falls Village Truck Pull held in October.

I am presently building a 1931 Ford Sedan streetrod. I chopped it 5 inches, & built a custom frame. It has a 9” rearend, turbo 400 transmission with trans brake & 3800 stall convertor. I built a 800+ hp 671 blown 392 hemi with ported heads, solid lifter cam, and Sanderson headers. It will be painted Candied Brandywine.

I also have a 1958 Power Wagon Civilian truck with 5.9 Turbo Cummins diesel, 5 speed trans., Dana 60 rear, 4wd, power disc brakes & power steering, 5" exhaust.

My Antique Car is a 1946 Mercury Coupe,purchased in Dec 2006 advertised on E-Bay.No one bid on it,but I kept the Dealers Name.A few weeks later I contacted the Dealer and purchased the car.It was delivered to my house (For a Fee) from a small town near Detroit MI,The Car is an original in that it has never been restored,but had new paint and both bumpers rechromed.There were things to do to the car,normal to being painted such as in installing of trim and door rubber seals,wiper motor,and wiring etc.
I drive the car to all the local parades,car shows,and cruises.In between time I work on the car improving it and maintaining it myself.extras on the car are wheeltrim rings,windshield visor,fender skirts.
I had this type of car when I was a teenager in the 1950's mine was a 1947 Mercury Convertible,then a '47 Ford 2-door sedan while I rebuilt the Mercury ingine and finally a '47 Ford Coupe which I Dechromed and had painted.Getting an Antique Car took many trys until I bought this one First a Ford Coupe Basket Case,then one that needed restoring but running.So now I have a Car to get together with others,show off to others,and not to spend all my time working to keep it on the road.Using the Car is more fun!
